Life Skills is an essential program for adults with special needs and covers a broad range of learning objectives. Some elements of the program require more attention than others and many require constant repetition.
Some of the topics we cover include:
- Dressing appropriately based on the weather and events e.g. work, wedding etc.
- Household chores including all aspects of laundry.
- Meal planning and nutrition.
- Grocery shopping.
- Money management and budgeting.
- Anger management.
- Building, developing and maintaining relationships.
- Knowledge of our surroundings; Countries, Provinces and levels of government.
- Social media; safe and appropriate use.
- Cognitive stimulation; a very important part of every day at Waynes Cup and incorporated into our daily routine.
- Awareness of current affairs; communication-based class focused on developing social interaction.
- Arts and crafts; where possible we produce items, which are sold in our caf.
