About this service

Second Career allows for workers who have exited a workplace previously, to return to school and train for a new career path. The program supports participants by paying funds for tuition, books, and basic living expenses, amongst many other things.

Second Career qualification begins when you have been laid off, or your contract ends. You can also qualify if you were forced to exit your workplace due to medical issues. Additionally, you can also qualify if you are currently working in a temporary job. EI recipients are eligible for Second Career.
