About this service
Blue Boxes for Books creates new literacy opportunities for all children in London and area. Its well known that literacy is the cornerstone to a childs development and well being, including school and future employment success. We hope to spread the word and encourage literacy in a new and exciting way.
Blue Boxes for Books features recycling boxes filled with children's and youths books placed in strategic locations throughout the city. To date, we have over 45 locations. Each participating location adopts a Blue Box for Books Starter Kit. We provide the blue boxes filled with new or gently used books, along with a sign identifying the program. This box will be placed in the waiting area and families will be encouraged to read, take, and share books.
