About this service
Kanawayhitowin (Cree: Taking Care of Each Others Spirit) Women's Group started as an Indigenous campaign to raise awareness about the signs of abuse in our communities. The goal is to provide support to individuals who are at risk or are currently living in an abusive relationship. The cultural based program focuses on ending the isolation that women feel in addition to emphasizing life skills and empowerment. All the while incorporating an underlying theme of ongoing awareness and educating clients on proper safety planning. Dinner and childcare are provided.
