About this service
Language and Settlement Services are a collection of programs and services which aim to help Newcomers successfully integrate.
Knowledgeable Settlement Workers provide support for Newcomers to aid in the development of skills required to function in Canadian society. These services include: assistance with applications and forms, appropriate information and referral, interpretation and translation, as well as general every-day living assistance and counselling. Assessments are completed and goals are generated to promote settlement.
Expert guest speakers deliver weekly workshops on settlement-related topics. Explore themes focused on living in Canada such as employment, finances, parenting, nutrition, and housing. Stay on top of changes to settlement related legislation.
Services are available in Arabic, Low German and Spanish. Other languages are available upon request. To obtain services, call SECC and ask to speak with a Settlement Worker.
