About this service
The purpose of the Youth and Teen Groups is to provide respite for caregivers and provide meaningful recreational activities and skill building opportunities for participants. The Youth and Teen Groups will run for a total of 8 weeks this falll, from October 12 to December 3, 2022. To ensure everyones health and safety: There will be no more than thirteen people (including staff) in the building. Participants will do a screening assessment (including temperature checks) before entering. Hand sanitizer and masks will be given to participants for each session. Staff will practice precautions by disinfecting every area after use. Youth Groups: Children between 8-12 years old Teen Groups: Children between 13-17 years old *Please note that we are unable to provide personal care or one-on-one support for participants. When and where do the groups meet? All groups will meet at 14 Braun Ave. in Kitchener, Ontario. The Youth Groups will meet on Fridays from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The Teen Groups will meet on Wednesdays from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 1:00-3:00 p.m. How many participants? Each group will have 10 participants who will be supported by 3 staff What is the cost of joining a group? $80 for the seven-week session How can you cover the cost of the group? Families can register through MyCommunityHub and pay online through credit card. If Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region administers your SSAH funding and you wish to use these funds to pay for the costs, please use the code SSAHrespite when you register.
