About this service
Children and youth with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), often struggle to succeed in the mainstream education system. The good news is that with some specific accommodations they can learn and thrive in an educational setting and get what they need to be set up for their transition to the world of work. Fort and Temenos This is where the Fort and Temenos classrooms come in. In partnership with the Waterloo District school board, Carizon provides a day treatment program for elementary age children in Fort and for high school age youth in Temenos. Academic instruction, life skills training, social skills development, work readiness and family support are provided by the specialist teams that work in this programs to children, youth and families, tailored to their individual needs. FORT CLASSROOMS TEMENOS CLASSROOMS THE CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN FORT AND TEMENOS SHARE THEIR WISE WORDS The children and youth in our Fort and Temenos programs have wrapped up an exciting project! A key part of this years program is self-advocacy and they have participated in the creation of a video about living with FASD, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
