About this service
The Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony is committed to sharing the joys and benefits of live orchestral music to as many people as possible. We strive to make our concerts as accessible as possible so people can enjoy this unique experience when they need it most. Thanks to BlackBerry Ltd., the sponsor of our Heartstrings Program, we are able to provide free tickets to community members who would not normally have the opportunity to attend concerts. Tickets are usually provided through non-profit agencies serving Waterloo Region.
Who can use it?
The Bridge to Music program is for low income families with children who are willing to commit to taking up an orchestral instrument and studying it seriously. Financial eligibility is based on total household income - all income before taxes. Proof of eligibility (2020 Notice of Assessment from Canadian Income Taxes) will be requested following the submission of the application. Some consideration is given to extraordinary expenses that impact on the familys net income.
