About this service
Kingston Youth Transitions is a transitional housing program for youth ages 16-24. This program is geared to youth who need supportive housing to learn basic life skills to be successful once living on their own. The overall goal of this program is to permanently end the homelessness of all youth that enter. There are currently two transition homes (with a total of 11 beds) in the Kingston area. Youth staying here pay an affordable, inclusive rent for a fully furnished room, cable, phone and wi-fi. They work with youth counsellors on accessing school, work or volunteer opportunities through the day, while during the evening learn valuable life skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting and health to be able to live independently once they have completed the program. Program length is up to 12 months.
