About this service

Child protection services are provided through a number of different activities including child abuse investigations, court work, providing practical help to families who are having difficulty caring for their children, locating family members for children who need care, and finding specialized help for children who have been affected by family trauma. We are mandated under the Child, Youth and Family Services Act (2017) to investigate child abuse and neglect. We make every attempt to strengthen families by offering in-home support, counseling, education, and advocacy. Each of our branch offices works closely with its respective community. We rely on our community partners and the dedication of our staff to help families and children in Northwestern Ontario.
