About this organization
The Youth Literacy council is a charitable non-profit organization providing an effective Youth Literacy Program for over twenty years to rural communities throughout south Grey Bruce. We work with school-aged children (6-18) and their families to raise literacy skills and celebrate the benefits of literacy in three ways: 1) free, confidential one-on-one tutoring with trained and screened community volunteers; 2) programs for young people and their families that provide an alternate route to gaining literacy skills; and 3) raising awareness of the benefits of literacy through cultural and practical activities in the Grey Bruce region.
