Many women with cancer are told that the emotional rollercoaster of losing your hair, eyelashes, eyebrows and having sallow or excruciatingly dry skin is normal. Theres nothing normal about this and we refuse to consider it vanity.
The finer points about hair, makeup and skin care are just the beginning LGFB is about a whole lot more.
It offers a unique sense of community to women from all walks of life. For a cancer survivor, its the opportunity to get closer to the person you were before you began fighting this debilitating disease. Its a chance to be yourself again.
Wellness is a term that goes far beyond medical treatment. At LGFB, we use the broader, psychosocial definition of health that incorporates mental, emotional, social and spiritual well-being. Its not just about the diagnosis. Its just as much about who you are and how you feel as a person - and a woman.
