The Salvation Army - Lawson Ministries Hamilton - Learning 4 Life (L4L)

Learning for Life started as a pilot project in September 2005, with the goal of becoming an ongoing program through the Lawson Ministries in Hamilton and Mohawk College.

The mandate of the Learning for Life program is simple: to assist young adults with developmental disabilities with the transition from high school into the community through education, support and the creation of opportunities. Students attend classes at Mohawk College with the support of a Mohawk College student placement volunteer trained by our staff to assist as needed. The success of the Learning for Life program depends on the ongoing support and commitment of community partners. The Salvation Army Lawson Ministries is continuously looking for sponsors, employment opportunities for participants and post-secondary schools in order to facilitate the continuation and growth of the Learning for Life program.
