About this service
ASCY in partnership with Early Literacy Hamilton gratefully acknowledges the ongoing support of Telling Tales and the past contributions of Hamilton Community Foundation and ArcelorMittal Dofasco for their financial support of the Read To Your Baby project. This project gifts board books to children at their 18-month physical check-up. During this visit, health practitioners talk about how important it is for parents to read to their baby. Parents are then provided with a daily prescription to read along with a new board book to share with their child, plus an invitation to obtain a local library card for their child. Currently, there are 240 physicians across Hamilton involved in the Read To Your Baby project. RTYB continues to expand with the hope of reaching all physicians in our community who serve young families.
