About this service
Music has the power to reignite old memories. Within an instant, a song can spark an individual to reminiscence on their past experiences. For the majority of individuals with dementia, the ability to remember their past is extremely beneficial towards their quality of life. Music for Memory is a volunteer-based and donor funded program designed to help individuals and families gain access to portable personalized music. Once the playlist is created, recipients are able to borrow an iPod for 4 months. During this time period volunteers will ask the participant and their family members for feedback to ensure the recipient is benefitting from the program.
