About this organization
The program encourages and enhances the healthy development of children; academically by providing customized support and socially by helping children deal with everyday life issues. We offer children living in poverty some of the same opportunities to participate in school life and to excel in education as those who live in relative wealth with a view of breaking the cycle of poverty
Community Involvement is an essential key to our success. The leaders and many of the volunteers are part of the community and are able to support these children on an ongoing basis, out of program hours. Since what affects the family affects the children, we created a unique Family Encouragement Plan to ensure that the childs family is supported as they deal with life challenges, so those challenges do not overwhelm the children. We stand in the gap for these families- whether they need connections with appropriate agencies, schools supplies, help fund school trips, food hampers or just a listening ear.
