Hypertension What is high blood pressure (BP)? What causes it and what harm can it do? We offer a one-time BP class that discusses the long-term effects of high BP, modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors, basic anti-hypertensive medication information and the positive effects of lifestyle change on BP. The class serves as a motivator for self-involvement and self-management of hypertension. Patients are encouraged to purchase a home BP machine and bring it in for accuracy check. We also provide BP screening for hypertension. This may include a 24-hour BP monitoring service provided by our Registered Nurse. All hypertensive patients will have their BP monitored on a regular basis and attempts will be made to achieve target BP levels. HYPERTENSION CLASS What is high blood pressure? What causes it and what harm can it do? This will be an interactive, hands-on session to learn how to manage and control your own blood pressure. If you have a blood pressure cuff, bring it with you and we will check its accuracy.
