About this service
Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) Program Psychosis is a medical condition. It is a serious but treatable brain disorder. Men and women from all backgrounds can experience psychosis. For some, loss of contact with reality occurs, making it difficult to know what is real and what is not. There are many different signs and symptoms. Not every person will have the same experience. This program serves adolescents and young adults (ages 16 to 35 years) experiencing their first episode of psychosis, to better understand, manage and resolve psychosis. Family participation is encouraged. Early intervention is the key to recovery. Self-referrals are accepted as well as referrals from the community, family doctors and nurse practitioners, mental health professionals and family members.
