About this service
The Addictions Medicine Consult Service (AMCS) works with patients who are admitted to hospital for a medical or mental health reason and who may also be using substances. The goal is to make sure patients receive the care they need for the medical reason they have been admitted for, while also being supported with their substance use while in hospital. If you have been admitted to the hospital for a medical or mental health reason and you also use substances, we can help and support you. This can include complicated withdrawals, cravings, opiate replacement therapy, treatment planning and harm reduction education. Our team can also refer you to other addictions support services as well as other local community treatment services.
