Hi, Tech! Program

Lets get you connected through our new tech support program! Do you hear people talk about having virtual visits with family and friends and wonder how to do it? Do you want to learn how to use video conference software to ace that virtual interview? Do you wish you knew more about how to use technology to connect with your community? Do you want to know how to do online food shopping so that you can have groceries delivered to your door? If so, the Hi, Tech! program is for you! This program empowers adults with disabilities to build their digital skillset and bridge online connections with their communities. With help from our virtual tech savvy coaches, its easy, safe, and fun! Heres how Hi, Tech! works If you have a disability and are 18 years or older, you are eligible to be matched with a tech support coach who is volunteering their time. Over the phone or using a technology that you already use, your tech support coach will book a time with you and get you connected and comfortable. Your tech support coach will answer your technology questions and help you practise your new skills. What can we help with? Our tech support coaches can assist you with accessing virtual programs / services and on different ways to keep in touch with family and friends. We can help you use the following programs: Zoom FaceTime Facebook Messenger Microsoft Teams Google Meet Skype We can also help with: Accessing virtual services. For example for medical appointments. Accessing virtual support and education in your community. For example for webinars held by March of Dimes Canada. Learning how to use the internet Setting up email Using social media Texting others Streaming news Saving a vaccine passport Learning how to order groceries online Need support for another technology task?
