Community and Employment Placements

We can help you by placing a referral for you for either a community or employment placement. Community Placement A volunteer or community placement may be a good option if you do not have work experience, are new to the labour force or have been out of work for a while. Community or volunteer placements give you an opportunity to: learn new skills, gain work related experience, get references, develop contacts by volunteering with a non profit community organization. This is an opportunity to enhance job related skills while giving back to the community. Most placements can last for up to three months and you can volunteer up to 70 hours per month. Financial assistance is available to help cover costs related to transportation, clothing and child care. Employment Placement Employment placements give you an opportunity to apply your acquired job skills and experience in a paid work environment. This is an option if: you are job ready, have work experience, have references, are available to start work immediately. Employment subsidies may be available to help encourage employers to hire you. This may be an option if you are unsuccessful in finding work on your own or realize you are at a disadvantage in todays competitive labour market.
