About this service
Our Respite Care Program provides planned, short-term, in-home and out-of-home support to families with children with complex medical needs, physical disabilities and/or developmental delays. Short notice and emergency requests will be accommodated as best as possible.
Respite care enables families or primary caregivers to rest, attend to personal needs, or participate in outside activities. It gives parents/guardians and siblings an opportunity to take time out for themselves. Respite services are flexible and responsive to the diverse individualized needs of the child/youth and family. The Respite Care Program is accountable to the families, the THRIVE Child Development Centre, the Ministry of Community and Social Services, and the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.
