About this service
The Ontario Works program provides financial assistance to those most in need while they meet obligations to become and stay employed.
You must be a resident of Ontario, you must be in immediate financial need and you must be willing to participate in employment programs in order to be eligible for temporary financial assistance.
Ontario Works benefits vary according to your needs, with provincial limits set for food and shelter. Benefits for health related services and supports are also available such as drug coverage, vision care, and dental care. Ontario Works offices provide employment supports such as child care and employment start up.
