About this organization

Sloanes House will be a facility located in Durham Region offering respite care to children. It will have 6 beds for overnight stays; a large common area for group interactions, an accessible kitchen where meals can be prepared; multiple therapy rooms, such as sensory treatment rooms, games, etc. These services can be used for as little as a few hours to as long as three weeks for children between the ages of 0 and 18. In addition to respite care, we will also offer therapeutic programs, sibling support and support for the parents/caregivers. Our goal is to open our doors in 2021.

Sloanes House will provide temporary relief to the family and caregivers while also allowing the child to engage with adults and peers outside the home and to participate in meaningful activities and therapies.
