About this service
Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) is a program funded by the Government of Canada through the Department of Citizenship and Immigration. This program is designed to give newcomers and immigrants the language skills in English and/or French to succeed in Canada. The Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) curriculum provides students with an introduction to life in Canada, Canadian cultures, Canadian customs, and Canadian society.
Clients eligible to participate in the Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program are provided with an assessment using The Canadian Language Benchmarks Assessment (CLBA). The Canadian Language Benchmarks Assessments (CLBA) provides an indication of the clients reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
Who can use it?
Client must show proof of immigration status before being assessed.
