About this service
Patients referred for palliative care are those suffering from incurable and/or life-limiting illnesses of a cancerous and/or non-cancerous nature. These include but are not limited to end-stage Lung Disease, Heart Disease, Chronic Kidney Disease, Neurological Disease (such as Dementia and ALS), and Liver Disease. Palliative Care is appropriate for patients in all disease stages, from those undergoing active medical treatment to those who are nearing the end of life. The goal is to provide pain and symptom management thereby improving quality of life.
