About this service

The YJC: Summer Stream is open to all eligible youth between the ages of 15 and 18 who are intending on returning to high school or beginning post-secondary studies at the end of the program. The program will primarily focus on youth who are experiencing poor transitions between education and employment. Challenges may include difficulties in school (i.e. failing courses or skipping school), barriers to accessing post-secondary education (due to low school performance and/or lack of financial resources), family issues, poor community engagement (victims of violence, discrimination, involvement with criminal justice system), as well as individual issues such as low confidence and or lack of motivation. The goal is to provide youth with training and employment opportunities that will help youth make informed career and education planning choices.
