About this service
Quinte Vocational Support Services (QVSS) offers supported and volunteer placement opportunities primarily for individuals with disabilities who face challenges in getting traditional employment. The QVSS mission involves empowering these individuals through work in order to provide purpose, dignity, independence, and economic self-sufficiency. QVSS uses employment programs and strategies to improve these individuals' existing work and social skills and helps them engage more in their local communities. QVSS addresses service gaps for those with a developmental disability needing community work experience to gain employment. It provides a variety of supports, such as skills assessment, resume writing, interview preparation, on-the-job problem-solving, work attitude and behavior evaluation, and job coaching. The program aims to improve work ethics and habits that hinder community employment, fostering skills in various areas like innovative work responsibilities, health and safety, customer service, and marketing.
