Bayside Public School, located halfway between Belleville and Trenton on Highway #2 at Aikins Rd., originated from a one-room schoolhouse in 1831. Today, the school operates within a complex of two buildings and serves over 500 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6. The school offers French Immersion programming from Grades 4 to 6. Bayside Public School focuses on character education, literacy, and numeracy and offers students a large playground and track, an instrumental music program, and an automated library with bilingual materials. Students can participate in a number of educational programs and activities, including the Challenge Programs, participation in Queen's University SEEDS Program, and various school-wide events. After completing Grade 6, students continue their education at Bayside Secondary School for Grades 7 to 12.
