About this organization
The Highland Animal Relief Team (HART) is an Ontario-based all-breed dog rescue organization. Founded by dog-loving citizens of North Hastings in 1995, HART is devoted to the humane treatment and respect of all animals, primarily focusing on the rescue of abused and abandoned dogs in the Bancroft area. The organization has been a registered charity since 1996, serving a wide region of 13 municipalities over 20,000 square kilometers. In collaboration with local pounds and other Ontario rescue groups, HART rescues, rehabilitates, and re-homes dogs, going beyond its limited resources. It continues to expand in numbers, strength, and purpose through each successful rescue.
