About this service
AVEN Cottages was opened to residents in March 2010. Aven Cottages are specifically designed to care for people living with Alzheimers and related dementia. This project was funded by the Government of the NWT and the Department of Health Social & Services. The facility was built in conjunction with partners Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. and Nahanni Construction Ltd. Funding for the operation and maintenance of the facility is through the Yellowknife Health & Social Services Authority.
