About this organization

The FSAS is a group of volunteers dedicated to caring for lost, stray, surrendered, and abandoned animals in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories, Canada. The FSAS is under the administration of the Town of Fort Smith, and we are grateful for their continuing support.

Our Main Goals:

  • To provide immediate safe shelter for our rescued animals where they stay until they are ready to be placed for adoption
  • To provide up to date vaccinations and spaying and neutering services for our rescued animals and euthanasia services when needed
  • To help place stray or rescued pets with new loving homes through the provision of adoption services
  • To educate the public about proper animal care and pet overpopulation

We do not keep regular business hours. As we are operated completely by volunteers, we come in when we can. To arrange a time to see the cats or dogs that you may want to adopt, please contact us.
