About this service
Our trustee program helps clients who struggle to pay their bills in full and on time, or who have lost their housing because of late payment in the past. There is no cost for this service.
The Welcome Housing Trusteeship Program helps clients who have struggled with paying their bills in full and on time, and who may have lost their housing because of it.
Trustee staff will make a budget that works with the clients income. They receive that income, pay bills and rent on time, and return what is left to the client at the end of the month. The trustee is also able to work with Nova Scotia Power and Metro Regional Housing to repay old bills. Some clients set up a savings plan while in trusteeship.
