About this service
Welcome Housing owns six buildings in Halifax and Dartmouth that allow single men and women to live independently, with access to Tenant Support Workers and a Wellness Coordinator.
Welcome Housings units are one bedroom or studio apartments that include a full kitchen, washroom, and access to a washer and dryer. Support staff help with referrals to other community services, as well as tenant education & social events.
Most all tenants either receive a subsidy from Metro Regional Housing Authority, or live in a building that charges rent based on how much income they receive (called rent geared to income).
Welcome Housing has one building for single women in recovery, and one building for men in recovery. The rest of the buildings are for men and women.
