About this service
Our Pre-School Assessment Day is a fun, kid-friendly day designed to provide families with the opportunity to have their childs growth and development assessed and monitored before starting school. Run in partnership with Dalhousie University staff and students in the audiology and speech-language pathology program and members of our own health team, we offer development screenings which assess speech, hearing, motor skills, oral health, and behaviour, all in a setting that is comfortable for everyone. It is an opportunity for caregivers to meet a number of professionals and ask any questions you have and to learn about any services or supports you and your family may need.
During a follow-up appointment, 4-6 weeks after the assessment, a physician will review the results with you and your child, at which time we will offer immunizations.
To participate you must be a current patient of the clinic and have pre-registered appointments.
