About this service
Nova Scotia landlords are invited to submit information for consideration under the Rent Supplement Program.
Housing Nova Scotia is expanding this program by providing increased funding and the private sector will bring excellent opportunities to provide affordable housing to families and individuals across the province.
The Rent Supplement Program provides safe, affordable rental accommodation for low-income families and individuals in the private rental market. Housing Nova Scotia enters directly into an agreement with a property owner to subsidize a portion of the rent.
Landlords are encouraged to bring forward all types of rental opportunities. Those who present locations where the greatest need exists and offer the best value will be contacted first.
The type and number of units accepted is related directly to the local housing priority for subsidized units. All units will be inspected to ensure compliance for suitable maintenance, dcor, services, amenities and management standards.
