About this organization
The Spay Day HRM Society is a Registered Charity located in Halifax, N.S. It was formed in 2011 to address the cat population explosion in the Halifax area that existed at that time. Family pets that are not spayed/neutered can reproduce several times a year, and within six months the offspring can reproduce. This contributes to the heartbreaking number of homeless animals, and the overburdened animal shelters.
Spay/neuter is the only humane permanent effective method of population control for cats. It is also important to a cats health as it can prevent certain kinds of cancers and infections..
