About this organization

The Halifax Nova Scotia Down Syndrome Society is a volunteer, registered non-profit organization which acts as a resource to everyone with an interest in Down syndrome in Nova Scotia.

In 2013, the Nova Scotia Down Syndrome Society decided to add the word Halifax to the front of its name to best represent its current range of programming and services. The aim of the organization continues to be a resource and point of contact for families and other members of the Down syndrome community in Nova Scotia.

The HNSDSS encourages other community groups across Nova Scotia to engage in programming and services for their members with Down syndrome. As a registered non-profit organization we are happy to assist other community groups with fundraising and other supports.
