About this service
Our Life Skills Department focuses on building communication skills as well as promoting independence with daily living. Many of the participants in this department use non-traditional forms of communication so the use of PECS (picture exchange communication system) is prominent. With most individuals in Life Skills requiring 1 to 1 support, the day is very carefully structured and provides a predictable schedule and routine customized for each of our participants. Some of the programming in Life Skills includes: art therapy, gardening, outdoor time on our newly built deck, sensory activities, and a dining program.
