About this service
The Summer Respite Program provides families involved with our program a 2-3 hours per week respite break. This program offers families a chance to have a break from their regular routine of caring for their child with additional needs. It is also an opportunity for them to complete other activities that they may not have been able to do while caring for their child, or a chance to get away for a few hours. Parents often take this opportunity to get yard work completed, pick up groceries, meet up with friends, go to the gym or even just take a nap. This support really means a lot to our families as it is often the only break they get all week and is critical to their mental and emotional well being.
Each summer we offer this service to about 20 families.
