About this organization
The Spaniards Bay Recreation Commission is a volunteer organization dedicated to sport and other forms of recreation within our community. Our facilities include a 6000 sq. ft. recreation centre, baseball field, T-ball field, two outdoor basketball courts and a general playground area.
We offer two summer programs. Our Baseball program runs from mid-May to mid-September and is open to all children aged 6 18 years and divided into age groups as follows: Pre-Rookie (6-7), Rookie (8-9), Mosquito (10-11), Pee-Wee (12-13), Bantam (14-15) and Midget (16-18). We endeavour to send teams from Mosquito to Midget to the All-Newfoundland Tournament each year and have been successful in the past in winning medals, bronze to gold.
The second program that we offer is a summer sports program for children aged 6 14 years. This lightly structured daytime program is open to children of our town for seven weeks during July and August.
