Moncton Headstart - Parents' Program

Using an intensive strengths-based approach, we work with more than 30 families to help guide them in their parenting approach and practices.

• Family Home Visits: Early Family Educators regularly visit the families' homes to provide personalized support. Our goal is to assist and teach families how to provide the best possible care for their children.
• Days-In: Twice a month, parents participate in the classroom to engage in quality time with their child and learn the strengths and challenges their child is presently experiencing.
• Parenting Groups: Headstart parents are asked to regularly participate in parenting groups and parent workshops. Their participation, like their presence in the classroom, helps increase their knowledge in child development and child safety.
• Crisis Management: The Parents' Program team is available to all Headstart families in times of distress. Early Family Educators provide immediate support to families that have identified themselves as in crisis.
