About this service
The Womens Health Program provides inpatient and outpatient services for women in the two core areas of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Perinatal care is delivered at Womens Hospital (HSC) and St. Boniface Hospital (SBH) in collaboration with Population and Public Health in each of the 12 community areas. Care is provided to families with diverse perinatal needs, including those who may experience complications during the perinatal period (e.g., antepartum inpatient monitoring, twins, fetal anomalies, etc).
Ambulatory outpatient obstetrical and gynecological care is provided at HSC and SBH. Primary care with a focus on reproductive and sexual health occurs within the Ambulatory Care at both these sites. Laser surgery, colposcopy and other minor surgical procedures are also a part of the outpatient activity. Approximately, 70,000 outpatient visits occur at the two sites annually.
