About this service
Waverley Church offers English classes from mid-September to about the beginning of May each year. These classes are for any adult in our community whose first language is not English. We teach grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, and listening and reading skills all relevant to life in Canada.
There are two classes; one for beginners and intermediate learners and one for more advanced students. Advanced and intermediate students receive one hour of instruction and then engage in one hour of small group conversation with volunteer language partners. Beginner-level class receives instruction and practice for two hours.
