About this service
St. Matthews Maryland Community Ministry has been offering income tax preparation assistance for over 15 years. The tax program is a partnership between Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP). CRA provides the computer program and CVITP provides training and resources.
The program is open to people who are below the maximum income level and have a basic, uncomplicated, return. Income tax returns are required by law, and must be filed if people are to receive GST and child tax benefits.
The program is offered through March and April.
Trained volunteers complete the forms and e-file. Whenever possible, direct deposit is set up if there is any refund coming.
