After immigrating with her children to Manitoba, Winnipeg, the newcomer raised the need that newcomers (families and children) need grandparents around them. As a result, Pluri-elles works with its partners to better meet the needs of immigrants through the new project: Adopted grandparents provides opportunities to foster the creation of links between immigrants, seniors and the community.
The main goal of this project is to facilitate and support the social and community integration of immigrant families and individuals as well as refugees within the Francophone minority community of Manitoba.
- Bring together immigrants and seniors in activities that will foster the creation of lasting bonds resulting in the social integration of newcomers
- Breaking isolation and fostering bonds of mutual aid by pairing newcomers with elders in the community, thus offering a better experience of integration and inclusion.
