About this service
OFE is partnering with Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (MITT) to prepare people to work in our local manufacturing industry.
In 2017, OFE worked with over 60 people who came to Canada as refugees and who took part in our Manufacturing Production Worker Program, which is delivered as an Initiative under the Refugee Employment Development Initiative (REDI).
100% of the people who completed the program said that the experience changed their lives. Many have told us that because of their full-time employment they were able to make life changes that were important to them like moving to a safer area, reuniting with family members, buying a home, getting a drivers license, getting married etc. Participants told us that they had grown in confidence and are experiencing a sense of belonging in the community.
