About this service
Our volunteers come from many walks of life, offering a myriad of skills, knowledge and gifts to the newcomer community. Some of our volunteers live on-site at IRCOM or in the local neighbourhood, offering cross-cultural and linguistic expertise; while others are students, retired people or other active citizens from across the city, wanting to contribute.
We accept volunteers from ages 15 and older, and currently have a range of volunteers from high school all the way to senior citizens. All volunteers need to undergo a Criminal Record Check along with a Child Abuse Registry Check. The time commitment required for each position is clearly stated in the position description.
