About this service
We maintain an attractive 2-bedroom wheelchair accessible apartment located on St. Mary Avenue in downtown Winnipeg. The respite apartment offers people with disabilities and their families an option to have out-of-home respite in a comfortable homelike setting. Its downtown location allows for easy access to shopping, restaurants, movie theatres, the Forks and many other recreational activities.
The apartment is available to anyone with a disability looking for a short term place to stay. Children and adults with physical and/or intellectual disabilities who receive respite from CRS or any other source may use the apartment with their respite workers, with family members or other support.
The CRS apartment is for short term stays. It has been used to provide those living within Winnipeg with a place to get away and enjoy a change in their daily routine or by people visiting as a more suitable place to stay than a hotel, offering more privacy and comfort.
