About this service
Improve Yourself! Improve Your Club! Improve Your Community!
Each school year, twelve youth ages 14-17 are chosen from our Clubs to serve on the Youth Council.
As a Youth Council member, they develop interpersonal and leadership skills, represent and advocate for the youth perspective regarding Boys and Girls Clubs programs, events, and practices, and act as youth ambassadors for the agency.
During the school year, youth take part in a variety of learning experiences such as The Winnipeg Foundation's Youth in Philanthropy Project and YOUCAN Canada's training in conflict resolution, group facilitation and action planning. The Youth Council Program receives generous financial support from Fort Garry Industries.
